SPIRITED AWAY IN HOI AN

Hoi An truly took me away from city lights & all that noise to a more peaceful setting. This beautiful place awakens at night which reminded me so much of one of my favourite films ‘Spirited Away’. The time we spent here felt ever so quiet throughout the day with just a few wandering souls here & there. We hired bicycles (about $2 for a day hire) & cycled our way to Cua Dai beach which was about five kilometres away from Ancient Town (aka Old Town) & was lucky enough to witness a purple sunset. At night fall, this old town was transformed by multi-coloured lanterns, flickering candlelights, cultural music, traditional games & a lively crowd, all taken place beside the river. Being caught in the moment of the full moon lantern festival made it feel as if the day never existed. This was such a wonderful, joyful & heartfelt experience to us, it was like no other.
