Hi guys! So sorry I have not been posting, if you’ve been following my Insta Stories then you’ll know that I’ve recently moved houses so there was just plenty of packing/unpacking involved. Also, my work load has been quite hectic hence my absence here, but I’m still alive & well Lol. I’ve been eating plenty as per usual so I thought I’d put together this sweet post for all you food lovers.

I’m a sucker for dessert so if there’s an inviting sweet dish on the menu then I’d order it in a heartbeat. In other words, I’ve tried quite a few desserts in my days hence this post. Here’s a list of my all time favourite cafes for those must-try desserts in Australia.

The Picnic Burwood, Burwood

One of my favourite fruits is watermelon so of course this one made this list. French toast is a sweet dish & sometimes I’d get sick of the dish after the first few bites. However, the texture of this French toast, the watermelon, appropriate amount of caramel along with additional berries really do give the dish a good balance. Just perfect really, I’ve tried this several times & can’t even fault it.

Concrete Jungle, Chippendale

The ricotta hot cake here is ever so vibrant, light & fluffy which is just right for anytime of the day. That being said, hot cakes can get boring pretty quickly which is why mixed fruits/berries are a great deal for me here. I love when cafes are generous with their fruit toppings because it can make a huge difference in the overall balance of the dish.

Celsius Coffee Co., Kirribilli

I don’t even like waffles so what is this perfectly put together dish that has got me “mmm” upon every bite?! Have you ever had peanut butter cream?! If you have then you’d understand the emphasis & if you haven’t? Well, you need to cause you’re clearly missing out on life. Thinking about the time I had this dish just makes me salivate, enough said.

P.S. Apologies for the slightly irrelevant image as I did not take a close up of the dessert itself hence this table shot.

Circa Espresso, Paramatta

I don’t know about you, but I personally like my French toasts crispy on the outside & soft on the inside. Surprisingly, not every cafe serves their French toast this way. Circa Espresso though, never disappoints when it comes to satisfying my taste buds. Another very well balanced dish with generous amount of berries which means a double thumbs up for me. I always leave this place feeling full-filled as ever cause it’s that good.

Rozelle Espresso, Rozelle

French toast here is not crispy on the outside, but the combination of figs, variety of berries, crushed pistachios, syrup.. all just works well together.  I definitely have a soft spot for this one.

Elk Espresso, Broad Beach

If you haven’t picked it up already, I’m extremely picky when it comes to food (& everything else). I dislike the idea of poaching fruits; the texture, the overall concept yada yada.. However, I did make an exception when I tried this dish & I loved the combination here. That being said, I’m still not a fan of poached fruits & you’ll probably struggle to convince me otherwise LOL. I’d probably add more strawberries though.

Ristretto & Co., Liverpool

Yes, this tastes as good as it looks. I always order this dish as a ‘dessert to share’ because well why-not. The portion is quite generous here which is a big deal to me because you know I’m all about the whole ‘value for money’ thing, no really I just eat a lot.
