BUT FIRST, COFFEE

Coconut & Condensed Milktaylor-swift-font

The coconut & condensed milk iced coffee (aka bạc xĩuis very popular in Northern Vietnam & I can see why. I’m not really a coffee or coconut cream person, but I’d have this drink any day & everyday. The combination of coffee, coconut & condensed milk goes so well together. It wasn’t too strong or too sweet & the balance of coconut cream to coffee was just perfect. We tried this coffee at a few cafes & this one was by far the best amongst them all. If you’re in Hanoi then you got to give this place a visit & taste, it will not disappoint.

Traditional Vietnamese

If you haven’t tried traditional Vietnamese coffee when in Vietnam then did you even go to Vietnam. This coffee includes condensed milk & you can have it either cold (cà phê sữa đá) or hot (cà phê sữa nóng). I personally prefer cold over hot as the ice makes the overall flavour less intense.

A Little More

If you’re into something a little more fancy than check out Serein Café & Lounge. I love the vintage setting of this cafe along with the soft jazz playing in the background. There’s even a rooftop view overlooking Long Biên Bridge. You’ll find a wider selection & more western menu here including beers, cocktails, snacks & cakes. If you have a sweet tooth then give the egg coffee a try.
