Dress after dress after dress was all that I wore throughout my pregnancy & it continues now post pregnancy. I’m now a month postpartum & absolutely loving how my body is taking care of business without me stepping in yet. Adjusting to being a new mum has been a tough job, a full time job too. One that’s really easy to get & difficult to do that’s for sure. Don’t let anyone tell you that “all babies do is sleep & feed” because that in itself is exhausting enough, let alone everything else in between. It’s all fun & games until you got to wake up every 2-3hrs to keep up with your newborn needing a feed, diaper change & attention. Now put that on repeat & you’ll find yourself stuck on “Groundhog Day”. I’m getting the hang of it now though which means that I can finally add some life back into that wardrobe so I’ve put together a few of my favourite picks from PrettyLittleThing that remind me of what it’s like to feel confident, attractive, fun & feminine again.
An Old School Feel

There’s just something so sexy & powerful about a woman in a suit.. & that suit comes in a dress too. The blazer dress, such a sharp & sophisticated look no wonder it continues to dominate trends this fall. The classic checkered print, button details & an old school feel, I’m absolutely loving this blazer dress. I’ve dressed it up a little here with strappy heels & a bold lip colour, but you can easily switch to an everyday look by putting on a pair of knee-high suede boots & a vintage hat to go. My office now is like 2 meters from my bed, but if I was still working in corporate then my 9-5 just got a lot more stylish. Just put on some black stockings, a lace top & you can rock this look to the office.
Day & Night

I know what you’re thinking.. It has only been a month postpartum & she dares to wear a figure hugging dress? Well, I survived labour so I think I can handle a figure hugging dress. This off the shoulder design with ruched detailing is all things fun, flirty & feminine. It’s like the perfect Valentine’s Day dress, but not on Valentine’s Day. Why limit love to one day a year? It should be celebrated everyday. High heels will add a touch of elegance, but if that’s not practical for your everyday look then try an oversized denim jacket with pair of sneakers for a more casual look.
Hips Don’t Lie

This dress will accentuate your body curves & don’t you dare be afraid to show them off. I always wanted bigger hips & with my post pregnancy body I feel like I have effortlessly achieved that so hello bodycon dresses. I’m also loving the frilled edges on this. It adds a laid-back vibe to it which is right up my alley especially now because being a new mum seems to be everything but laid-back. Keeping it casual here with a pair of sneakers for that sporty look.
Button Up

A little xoxo “Gossip Girl” vibe all over with this look. With a shirt dress, you get the professionalism of a button up & the comfort of a sundress. What a perfect combo. Although, it may look neat it’s probably not work appropriate so rule out your office outfit for this one. Just pop on a different colour sweater for contrast.
New Romance

Date day/night just got a whole lot more romantic with this number. There’s something about this dress that whispers flirty, fun & saucy. It could be the figure hugging design, satin fabric, leopard print or mermaid tail with ruffle trim. You’re right, it’s all the above. If that’s not your mood then pop on a leather jacket & a pair of ankle boots for a more casual feel.
